Marianne Crampton, PE, is the Founding Principal of the firm. With a diverse range of engineering and professional experience, Marianne united a group of passionate professionals to provide high-quality engineering and excellent customer service. Under her leadership, the firm has grown rapidly, earning Top 10 spots two years in a row on the Baltimore Business Journal’s Fast 50 List. Marianne believes in providing engineering without drama: seamlessly incorporating the project goals with the engineering requirements.
Paul Crampton’s history of building long-term relationships is the cornerstone of his commitment to the creation of permanent solutions instead of quick fixes. Paul has worked as the chief civil engineer at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Campus for more than 25 years. He has effectively managed the ongoing design of site/civil systems and infrastructure to support the growth and development on campus, including site improvements, civil engineering systems and infrastructure, and landscape architecture that enhance the function and aesthetics of the institution.
Nick Wilson, LEED AP, leads the firm’s K-12 practice. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the design, permitting, and regulatory approval for stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, grading, planting, utilities, sidewalk and field improvements, and roadway and parking design for schools throughout the region. Nick is a skilled Project Manager, with nearly two decades of experience providing site/civil engineering services for K-12 schools in Baltimore County, Baltimore City, Anne Arundel County, and the surrounding areas.
Anthony J. Corteal, Jr. leads MK’s urban development practice. With more than 45 years of master planning and land development experience, Tony has coordinated multi-disciplinary teams for more than 2,000 projects ranging from 2,500 SF to 1,000 acres. His enthusiastic and highly-collaborative approach creates trusting relationships with clients and agency professionals.
Steve McCalmont has more than 40 years of experience on every type of project. This deep experience is evident in his careful and creative approach to site/civil engineering. He considers both the site constraints and the project opportunities in every design. He is an expert in Baltimore City processes and requirements, and how they have changed over the years. This ability to see a site in context is invaluable; he knows right away the elements which will need to change to accommodate current regulations.
Beginning his career as a Field Engineer on major construction projects in the Northeast, George has spent more than 40 years estimating, scheduling, and managing construction projects throughout the MidAtlantic. As a former construction contractor, he is instrumental in providing a “contractor’s perspective” in the analysis of both pre-bid and post-bid price and schedule reviews. As a cost expert, he functions as an integral part of the design team, proactively providing cost data to facilitate informed decisions which lead to successful projects.
